Events
From General Body meetings to Panel Discussions with our various speakers, events are the key to the Business of Fashion Society. All members are strongly encouraged to attend each event as it will help them gain a better understanding of the fashion industry and its possible careers. Furthermore, attendance will dictate who may be eligible to attend Treks to various fashion locations.
2023 - 2024 Monthly Theme Topics Include: Luxury, Sustainability, Early Career Development, Small Business, DEI, Footwear & Accessories, and Social Media.
DEI Event featuring Victoria Diez

Join us for a guided Q&A session with Victoria Diez, Strategic Partnerships at Business of Fashion, about her experiences working at BoF (Business of Fashion media company) and how being a first-generation member of the Latinx community has impacted those experiences. It is at 6pm on February 20th and will be moderated by our Business of Fashion Society, Co-DEI Chairs, Valeria Torres and Grace Tanella.

TREK: Glossier Philadelphia
The Villanova Business of Fashion Society invites you to join us on our Fall '22 BEAUTY TREK which will feature a visit to Glossier Philadelphia, located at 1716 Walnut St, in Philadelphia. Store will be closed, providing Villanova students with exclusive access to the site and an opportunity to hear about the "Glossier story" from store leaders.
Bus transportation will be provided; departure from outside Bartley (across from Main Entrance Guard's Booth) at 6:15 pm.
GLOSSIER OVERVIEW
Glossier, Inc is a beauty brand founded in 2014 that sells skincare, makeup, body care, and fragrance. It started originally as an online store, but recently has expanded to brick & mortar stores, with Philly being its 7th - opening its doors on October 27th, 2022. Glossier is known for its creative advertisements (check out the fun new collaboration with Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate), unique store layouts, and recognizable millennial pink packaging.

BoF's monthly theme for October is Sustainability. During this session you'll hear from James Rogers who serves at the Director of Sustainability for The RealReal. James previously held a similar role at NorthFace. He will provide insights on his current position and the workings of the unique luxury consignment marketplace.

Industry Zoom with CaSandra Diggs, President of the CFDA

Join the Business of Fashion Society in a conversation with CaSandra Diggs, president of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). Under the leadership of Diggs, The CFDA has made great strides towards DEI initiatives including IMPACT, a program which provides employment opportunities to BIPOC creatives and professionals in the fashion industry. Diggs has expressed interest in hearing from students, specifically those interested in the business of fashion, so the event will be very engaging and interactive.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1962 to strengthen the impact of American fashion on the global economy. Board and committee members include Tom Ford (Chairman), Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ralph Lauren, and more. In 2020, CaSandra Diggs was appointed as president of the CFDA and has worked towards improving DEI education and opportunities within the fashion industry. The CFDA funds a number of programs focused on encouraging young creatives and is looking for new ways to support students interested in the business of fashion.
