Makeup has been a form of self-expression for decades, and even something as small as a pop of highlighter can brighten your day. The makeup industry has been busy recently, with companies creating beautiful new products and becoming more inclusive. We have seen Fenty create one of the most diverse shade ranges of foundation, Rare Beauty take social media by storm, and many celebrities, such as Lady Gaga, have created their own makeup lines. There has also been a rise in makeup influencers on Tiktok, which has caused Sephora to be frequently sold out of certain items, such as Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm. But don’t fret, these items are all on shelves, and ready to be added to your makeup bag.

As summer approaches, everyone wants perfect glowy skin or sunkissed cheeks. But, if you can’t get to the beach this summer, turn to these makeup products that will give you the perfect pink on your cheeks  and bronzed glow. These are the products that are worth the money, due to their unique formulas, beautiful packaging, or sustainable impact. Get your shopping cart at Sephora ready, because these are the makeup items that are “It Girl” approved.

1.     Primer: Begin your makeup routine with a primer to ensure long-lasting coverage that will look good all day. Elf’s primer has risen in popularity as being a “dupe” for Milk’s primer.

2.     Sunscreen: It’s always important to be protected from the sun, and these two gorgeous products will keep your skin safe while both moisturizing and prepping your skin for makeup.

3.     Glowy Base: A radiant and glowing base has been all the rage recently, so turn to bronzing drops to make it seem like you’ve been in the sun all day, or the Flawless Filter to illuminate your skin.

4.     Foundation – These new foundations have taken TikTok by storm, as people wanted to be the first to try Lady Gaga’s foundation and the Makeup by Mario foundation quickly became sold out. Additionally, turn to the Saie skin tint for lighter coverage.

5.     Concealer: Turn to these concealers for coverage of acne spots or dark under eyes. Nars concealer has long been a fan favorite, but the Dior concealer gives a radiant finish.

6.     Contour: Fenty revolutionized the contour game, and Fenty’s contour sticks have been used to carve out the best features of your face. Additionally, Milk’s contour became a hit on Tiktok, as the shades are some of the most inclusive on the market.

7.     Blush: Blush has become very popular recently, and Rare Beauty is known for their hyper-pigmented blushes. Merit is another great option, as this company is known for being clean and minimalistic.

8.     Highlighter: For a very highlighted face, swipe on Rare Beauty’s highlighter and you will be glowing all day. For a more toned down, natural glow- go for Glossier.

9.     Powder products: Top off your liquid blush and contour with powder products to make you look more vibrant! Nars and Tarte are best known for their powder blushes and bronzers.

10.     Eyeshadow: Bring a pop of color or shimmer to your lids with these two eyeshadow palettes! The Makeup by Mario eyeshadow palette is especially beginner friendly.

11.     Setting Powder: These settings powders will lock in your makeup look and help it last all day. Use the Givenchy setting powder for a nice pink undertone that will brighten your face.

12.     Mascara: If you want people to ask you if you’re wearing falsies, use one of these mascaras! For a cheaper alternative, the Maybelline Falsies Lashlift mascara has a great formula for a fraction of the price.

13.     Eyebrow Products: To fill in your brows, use the NYX brown pencil and to lock them in place, use either Benefit or Glossier brow gels so they can stay all day.

14.     Lip Products: To deeply moisturize your lips, Summer Fridays lip balm is an essential that is needed in your makeup bag. For a more glossy look, use Fenty’s lip gloss, or for lipstick, use Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk, which is a cult classic.

15.     Perfume: Not only will your stunning makeup turn heads, but so will these two gorgeous scents. Glossier You is a warm scent that forms with the PH of your body, while Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’62 is a sweet, vanilla scent.

16.     Setting sprays: To finish it all off, use your setting spray to make sure your makeup doesn’t budge. Urban Decay is very well known for their setting spray, but recently Milani has been praised for its cheaper alternative.
