Spring 2022 Upcoming Trends

The weather is changing, and so are our wardrobes. Higher temperatures have us dreaming of spring fashion and ready to retire our winter jackets for the season. With a new season around the corner, I have compiled some of the hottest upcoming spring 2022 trends.
As for the overall color scheme of this upcoming spring, we can expect to see lots of vibrant colors. Although bright colors were definitely present in this past winter, as evident in the Autumn/Winter 2021/2022 New York Fashion Week Color Palette, they are going to be just as present this Spring especially when not hidden under big weather outerwear. In particular, bright reds and pinks, and a variety of blue tones.
Spring is the perfect time for us to opt for those cute jackets that were just too thin to wear in the snow. Blazers, in particular, are the perfect addition to throw over an outfit. One of my favorites is Zara’s oversized pink blazer or Pretty Little Thing’s bright green boxy blazer. Both options are affordable and versatile, as they can go over a mini dress, jeans, or even a pair of jean shorts.
Although we have not seen many of these pieces off the runway, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar suggest that catsuits will be one of this spring’s biggest trends. They have already made an appearance recently on the runway by Saint Laurent, Burberry, Stella McCartney, and so many more designers. Olivia Rodrigo even wore a catsuit to the Met Gala this past September. Catsuits are the perfect way to stand out in a room of leather pants and mini dresses. Revolve carries 2 practical catsuits by Hours and Norma Kamali for a night out. Due to their simplistic nature, they can be dressed up any way you’d like with belts, jewelry, bags, etc.
Mini skirts are back and getting shorter! Prada’s S/S 22 runway was filled with miniskirts of all colors. They were also present in Emilio Pucci, Versace, and Miu Miu’s collections. If you are a fan of low-rise jeans, then you may be interested in a micro mini skirt such as Miaou’s, that comes in black, lime, and a pink and blue pattern. Or, ASYOU’s white mini skirt with rhinestone cutouts.
And lastly, shoes! We are swapping in our boots for chunky heels in every color. A colorful heel can elevate a little black dress or even a pair of jeans for a night out. Zara carries the ideal strappy platform sandals in fuschia that are bound to make a statement. Another similar option is a bright orange satin platform heeled sandal by ASOS design.
This upcoming season will be marked by vibrant colors, new looks, old favorites, and hopefully warmer weather. As you start to build your spring wardrobe, be sure to look out for these trends and ways to incorporate them into your style!
