Oversized Sweaters to Buckle Boots: Navigating Fall 2024 Trends

With the emerging fall season, my social media has been flooded with many different kinds of fashion predictions and inspiration. This year, the popular outfit trends often fall into the category of comfy yet cute. The ability to look put together while still being comfortable has become a new priority. Throughout my feed, the use of things like a fall boot, a fun jacket, or an oversized sweater have stuck out to me as defining features of a trendy fall 2024 outfit.
Throughout the years, boots have always been a staple of fall fashion. This year, however, we have been seeing them in new ways. The rise of the buckle boot has been extremely trendy this season. These mid-calf, dark brown buckle boots have been seen everywhere and are often paired with mini skirts, tights, and lace/frilly socks. Other variations are taller in height or black in color and most are heeled. Leather, sometimes distressed, is usually the material. This fun twist on a seasonal yet timeless piece styled with more comfy/chic clothing items like sweaters and flowy skirts makes for the perfect outfit in these upcoming fall months.

Another statement fall item I have seen this season is a fun jacket. When styled right, a jacket of any material, whether it be suede, fur, leather, denim, or corduroy can be the perfect element of an on trend outfit this fall. These different textured jackets styled with jeans or a linen skirt create the perfect mixed material fall outfit. A patterned jacket or scarf, like leopard print, paired with a skirt or jeans brings a fun element to a more basic outfit. Brown leather and fur jackets are also amazing to throw over a cozy outfit this season.

One staple fall clothing item that never goes out of style is the oversized sweater. As discussed earlier the increasing concern with dressing cute while staying comfortable has allowed the sweater to be styled in many different ways each season. This fall, an extremely popular style is an oversized sweater with a mini skirt or a flowy maxi skirt with a pair of boots. A variation of this staple, the cardigan, has also been extremely popular this season. Whether you’re styling it with only the top button buttoned, or just tied over your shoulders as a shall, the cardigan will always remain a go-to fall item. The dark cherry red/burgundy color has also become an extremely popular color to accessorize with. Scarfs, purses, sunglasses, and even nail polishes in this color have been trending throughout my social media.
