Winter 2021 Shoe Must-Haves
Written By: Mariel Persico
With winter approaching, it is time to retire our summer shoes and upgrade our collection with some new staple pieces. If you have been struggling to find some new footwear, look no further, here are a few of our favorites for this season.
Chelsea Boots are a timeless and versatile shoe that are a must-have for this winter. You can either opt for a knee-high or ankle length, both coming in a variety of colors. They can be dressed up with a dress or pair of leather pants or dressed down with your favorite pair of jeans. One of our favorites is Bottega Veneta’s lug soled boot that is carried in 6 different colors (below, left). If you are looking for a more affordable option, Sam Edelman carries a Chelsea boot in 11 different colors, including a snake-printed pair (below, right).
High-top sneakers do not seem to be going anywhere. They have become a favorite for many people due to their comfort and the variety of styles to choose from. One of our recent favorites is Nike Blazers (below, left). Although a simple black and white style is offered, if you are looking for a spin on their vintage look, take a look at a pair with neon accents. If you prefer a chunkier more winter weather friendly pair, check out Alexander McQueen’s platform white lace-up boots (below, right).
Gucci’s beloved chunky loafers are now offered by most shoe brands and remain a favorite for many shoe connoisseurs (below, left). Their chunky and unconventional look can elevate a simple outfit instantly. Princess Polly offers a vegan leather platform loafer with a gold buckle detail on top (below, right). Or, to put a twist on Gucci’s Horsebit loafers, you can purchase a pair in white leather to pair with a neutral outfit.
If you are not ready to stray from your go-to quarantine slippers, go for a new pair of cozy booties. EMU Australia offers a short bootie lined with sheepskin whose rubber sole offers traction in the winter (below, left). Another favorite is Birkenstock’s shearling padded clogs that offer warmth and comfort while walking (below, right).
When picking out shoes for the winter, it is important to make sure your winter shoes are warm and cozy as well as practical for the wet weather. Some of the shoes above, especially the sneakers and loafers, can even be worn into the spring and summer, which makes them the perfect new addition to your wardrobe.
