2024 Fashions Ins and Outs

With the new year upon us, people have taken to social media to share what they feel is in and out for 2024. These ins and outs may consist of healthy habits, self-care, mindset changes, hobbies, and even clothing trends. Just through TikTok, we can learn people's personal opinions on fashion and predict what may be the biggest fashion trends of the new year.
Focusing first on the ins, people seem to be moving more toward colors and patterns this new year. Cheetah print is considered on many people's lists and is being viewed as a neutral instead of a clashing pattern. It has made its rise very quickly and can be found in jackets, purses, skirts, shirts, and hats. This print is mainly being paired with black and red this year but, since it is considered neutral, its styling has no limits. Similar to cheetah print, fur has become extremely popular, whether it is a fur jacket or even a furry bucket hat. With colder out, statement jackets, like fur, are essential to 2024 fashion. A color that made a rise this fall and appears to be making it through to 2024 is red. Whether it is a fire engine red or a darker red, this color can be seen on nails, purses, sweaters, and boots. Adding a pop of color through accessories is a sure way to elevate an outfit. On the theme of accessories, chunky jewelry is making a rise this year with the trend of charm necklaces and chunky hoops. Overall, It seems that the theme of this year's fashion trends is expression and I love how people are not shying away from textures, colors, and patterns when creating an outfit.
Now we can't have the rise of all these new trends without leaving some trends in 2023. The typical going-out top, whether it is a corset or tank top, seems to be replaced by simpler tops and a skirt. People are opting for more classier outfits to go out in that consist of jackets and skirts rather than a flashy top and jeans. Speaking of jeans, jeans with rips are less and less common and jeans with no rips are becoming the most popular kind of jeans, which I believe will continue in 2024. It is important to note that because it is fashion no trend is ever truly “out” and most things do make a comeback eventually.
Keep in mind that these ins and outs do not and should not determine how you dress and what you wear. They are simply personal opinions that can help us have a greater understanding of what will be popular in this new year. On the other hand, it can be fun to partake in these trends and branch out in our style. All these new trends offer us different ways to express ourselves and be more creative with what we wear. Although these trends are here for 2024, who knows what will be here next year?
